Once you’ve settled into our comfortable dental office, Dr. Milana will invite you to express any concerns or smile goals you might have. This conversation allows our dentists to create a fully customized dental treatment plan that is unique to your needs and smile goals. 

We always start by taking digital x-rays. X-rays allow our dentists to get an accurate picture of your current dental health before recommending any treatment. In some cases, we may also take high-resolution photos using our intraoral camera, which shows our Arcadia patients images of their own individual teeth on our treatment room monitors.

Dr. Milana can easily show you any signs of wear-and-tear, tooth decay, gum disease, fractures, or any other condition that requires healing. We find that our patients are more involved in their own oral health when they can fully see their own dental condition. We like to take the mystery out of dental care!

Your Routine Dental Cleaning

All of our procedures start with a thorough dental cleaning. Dr. Milana will lightly and assiduously remove any plaque build-up from your teeth. Because he can get into the nooks and crannies you can’t access, you can leave Arcadia Dentistry knowing that your teeth are completely clear of any debris or food particles—which is always an amazingly fresh feeling.

After he’s removed all the harmful layers of film and plaque, our dentist in Phoenix AZ will polish your teeth; this contributes to the incredibly silky smooth feeling you get after a dental cleaning.

Dr. Matthew Milana is the fourth dentist in his family, which means he comes from a long line of excellent dentistry and perseverance. In fact, his grandfather and two uncles are dentists, and his father, two brothers, two uncles, and cousins are all dental laboratory technicians who custom fabricate dental crowns.

You can imagine that he grew up spending a lot in the dental lab and learning to understand the complexities of dental prosthetics. Throughout this process, he came to enjoy and respect the process of restoring and improving people’s smiles and quality of life.
